Being a Well: Mental Health Chat w/ Achea Redd

Good morning my fine friends. I am majorly excited to have something new to share with you today!

My heart for March was to hightlight wellness here on candacemread.com. Things changed a touch due to World happenings. As I questioned myself on moving forward with this segment, I was reminded that now, more than ever, people need an understanding of what true wellness is. While being physically active is an element of wellness, I have come to learn that welllness is a state of being and that state of being starts in the MIND.Being well holistically requires a certain honesty, a transparency and self-love that you must have for yourself. You have to want it for YOU. This is something I knew I wanted for myself, but had no clue how to really begin to peel back those layers and get real with myself. Insert Achea Redd. On a breezy morning a few years ago, we met for coffee in Bexely at Kittie's Cakes and for the first time in my life, I had an encouter with a strong, fearless woman who encouraged me through her story, to lean into mine. For today's spotlight on wellness, I am thrilled to have Achea join in an authentic chat surrounding mental health, being a well for others, stigmas and how we can refuel ourselves. For those of you who don't know, Achea Redd is the creator of Real Girls F.A.R.T, a community and movement that focuses on empowering and equipping  women with the necessary tools to use their voices and become their best, most authentic selves.  One of the things I love most about Achea, is her daily passion for disrupting the negative noise surrounding mental health. She shared her story on a new level this past year with the release of her first book, Be Free Be You and is currently working on the second (woot woot). I would continue writing a novel, but I want you guys to listen in on this eposide, as we both share elements of our personal stories and  Achea encourages you to find your own personal freedoms.[embed]https://youtu.be/dDLyjS8sEFA[/embed]
